Spontaneous role-playing of folktales with Master Storyteller Eva Grayzel. Stories with meaningful messages are presented as an interactive theatrical experience where the kids / adults become the stars of the show. Your program captivated the imagination of both the children and the adults. I was struck by your ability to choose actors from the audience and weave them into the various characters. This interactive style engaged the audience and allowed them to see their peers in a different, and humorous, light. Between the audience participation and the life-lesson themes of the stories, you created an hour of magic that these children will never forget.

Grayzel is an energetic and delightful storyteller. She has a wonderful voice, which she uses to great effect, both in conjuring different characters and evoking the emotional tenor of the story. She clearly enjoys telling her stories, and she communicates the fun of stories to school audiences. Eva’s biggest assets are her energy, and her voice. She has marvelous command of her material and her tellings.

Village Glen is a special education, non-public school serving children and adolescents who experience challenges in the areas of social, emotional and educational functioning. A large percentage of the students are diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. Eva provided our students with a rousing experience in which they all participated in interactive storytelling. She was able to use her sensitivity and tremendous skill to reach out to children of all levels of ability and to give them an experience of inclusion and creative success. Eva’s ability to entertain while providing valuable life lessons was evident in every workshop she gave based on the smiles and laughter that filled the room. Her spontaneity and ability to observe and respond continually to the wide range of student’s individual needs allowed for even the most impacted child to take pride in his/her ability to perform right alongside Eva. This created a seamless, unified experience for all students. As a bonus our staff was treated to Eva’s many insights and strategies on making classroom reading more experiential for our students. Eva’s warm and open manner was evident with our staff as well, as she helped them to learn the strategies and techniques to enliven their presentation in the classroom, as well as encourage the creative and social-emotional growth of their students. Village Glen students and staff will long remember their experiences with Eva’s storytelling. We would welcome her back at any time and are sure that any school or program with special needs students would have the same uplifting and wonderful experience with Eva as Village Glen did.
